Melissa Alexander has been the Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Southern Brazoria County (HFHSBC) for 1 year. In addition, she is also the volunteer coordinator & utilities coordinator for new construction. Habitat for Humanity of Southern Brazoria County serves an area of 100,000 people. HFHSBC is an all-volunteer affiliate with one full time staff & two part time staff members. They rank among the highest producing all-volunteer affiliates in the United States. HFHSBC was recognized by FEMA after Hurricane Ike as the cover story of their national newsletter for expertise in building hurricane-safe houses. They are the sole Energy Star home builder in their service area, which covers seven cities.
